Bring an origin you control
Live Relay accepts an authorized HTTPS HLS playlist. It fetches and passes through the playlist and segments behind TransferSize playback controls; it is not a tool for restreaming sources you do not own or administer.
Passthrough preserves the source ladder
V1 does not transcode, repair, or create new renditions. The origin remains responsible for valid playlists, segment availability, codec compatibility, and the bitrate ladder a player receives.
Operate it like a live dependency
Verify the origin before going live, keep its authorization current, watch relay health and usage, and retain a direct incident path. Gold currently includes one configured source and one active relay under the published account limits.
Before the handoff
Can TransferSize turn a video file into HLS?
No. V1 relays an existing authorized HTTPS HLS source and does not transcode.
Can I relay a third-party stream?
Only when you have explicit authority to access and republish that origin.
