TransferSize

Feature

Read-only WebDAV

WebDAV is a way for a compatible file app to connect to an online file library. With TransferSize, it lets you browse and download eligible files using that app. You use a separate app password, and the connection is deliberately read-only.

Use a file app you already know

A compatible WebDAV app can list folders and download files from your TransferSize account.

Three details make the connection

The app needs the server address shown in your account, your exact account email as the username, and a WebDAV app password. The name you give the connection, such as “Office laptop,” is just a reminder for you. It is not the login username.

A deliberate boundary

How the files move
  1. File appConnect with an app password.
  2. TransferSizeChecks the eligible account.
  3. Your deviceBrowse folders and download a copy.

It cannot change your files

The current connection blocks upload, rename, move, and delete commands.

Read-only is a useful boundary

Listing and downloading are allowed; uploading, moving, renaming, and deleting are blocked. A client that attempts to synchronize changes back to the server may show an error. Use the TransferSize workspace when you want to manage the stored files.

Useful detail

Set up and manage the connection

Use a separate app password

Create it in Account Security and save it when shown. Revoke it if the device is lost or no longer used.

One app password, one recognizable purpose

Create the password in account settings under Security & apps. Save it when it is shown, because the original cannot be displayed again. Give each device or app its own named credential so you can revoke one connection without confusing the others.

Check your account and connection

WebDAV requires a verified account and active paid eligibility. If an existing connection stops working, check account status and the credential before trying to rebuild your entire setup. Browsing the library needs a network connection unless you saved local copies beforehand.
