TransferSize

Guide

Send a large file by email

You can send a huge file without stuffing it into an email. TransferSize uploads the file and emails a download link to the people you choose. Their inbox gets a small message; the large file stays available through the transfer page.

A photo album for a relative

Example email • the link carries the delivery
Your holiday photos are ready. Open the TransferSize link, then download the photos you want to keep before the displayed expiry.

The email contains a small link. Your recipient downloads the large files separately.

Instead of attaching 200 holiday photos one at a time, choose the folder and send a transfer email. Use a title such as “Our Cyprus holiday photos” and a message saying “Open the link, then download the photos you want to keep.” A familiar name makes the email easier to recognize.

What the recipient sees

The recipient opens the transfer link in a browser, enters the password if one was set, previews supported files when enabled, and downloads without creating an account.

Check the addresses before starting

A spelling mistake can deliver a link to the wrong person or cause delivery to fail. Free supports up to three email recipients per transfer and paid plans up to ten. If you want to share through a mailing list or an existing conversation, create a link and send your own message instead.

Make the message recognizable

Use your real sender name, a specific title, and a short explanation of the files. Tell the person separately if they were not expecting anything. Avoid a vague subject such as “Download now,” which looks like the sort of message people are taught to distrust.

A password travels separately

If you protect the transfer, your recipient needs the password as well as the link. Do not assume it was included in the notification. Share it separately and avoid placing it in the transfer title or description. The email address itself does not act as a password.

If the email has not arrived

First check that the upload actually finished. Then ask the recipient to check spam and search for the transfer title. Confirm the address you used. Mail filtering can delay or block a notification even when the files are ready. If you have the completed share link, you can send it yourself through an existing conversation.

An email arriving is not proof the work was received

The message being delivered does not establish that a person downloaded, opened, or reviewed the file. For a deadline, ask for a short confirmation that the right files open. Keep your original package until then.
