TransferSize

Guide

Share a large file with a link

One upload, one link, and you choose where it goes. This is the easiest option when you already have a conversation going in email or chat: paste the finished TransferSize link there and the other person can open the download page.

  2. Copy its share linkUse Copy link for the transfer.
  3. Send it with contextName the files and the deadline.

Your builder is already messaging you about the kitchen. Upload the drawings, label the transfer “Kitchen drawings — approved September 10,” and paste the link into that chat. Add a note telling them which file to open and when the link expires.

Steps

Follow these steps

  1. 01

    Choose the final files

Remove old versions and give the files names the recipient will understand.

  2. 02

    Select Create a link

After choosing the files, select Continue and then Create a link.

  3. 03

    Set an expiry or password

Use them when the link should not stay open or the files are private.

  4. 04

    Wait for the upload

Do not copy or share anything until Transfer ready appears.

  5. 05

Send the link with a short note

Say what the files are, when the link expires, and how to contact you.

What the recipient sees

The recipient opens the transfer link in a browser, enters the password if one was set, previews supported files when enabled, and downloads without creating an account.

Keep this in mind

Know what happens next

Write a note that saves a phone call

Tell the recipient what you sent, the size if it is large, the expiry, and what you need them to do. For example: “Here are the final kitchen plans, 180 MB. Download them before Friday and let me know that the PDF opens.” Do not include a password in a public description.

Use expiry and download limits deliberately

An expiry ends future access through that link. A download limit limits use of the transfer; it is not a list of approved people. Very tight limits can also make testing and retries awkward. These controls cannot erase a copy someone has already saved.

Check the version before you share

A transfer is a delivery of the selected files, not a live document everyone edits together. If the design changes, make a clear new delivery and tell people which version replaces the old one. Naming both the file and the transfer helps prevent someone building from last week’s drawing.

Questions

Questions people ask

Can the recipient see my workspace?

No. The link opens a separate public download page.

Can I stop future downloads?

Yes, by closing the link from your workspace. You cannot remove a copy that was already downloaded.

Should I put the password beside the link?

No. Send the password separately so one exposed message does not contain both pieces.
