Apply it to your job

A temporary send or a place to keep working?

Decide whether you only need a short-lived delivery or a workspace you will return to. Compare persistent storage separately from transfer size.

  • Temporary delivery lifetime
  • Persistent storage allowance
  • Tools you need after sending

The first step is almost the same

Both services let you choose files, upload them, and share a link without signing up. Neither asks the person downloading a public transfer to create an account. That makes both useful for a quick one-off handoff.

The free size is the clearest difference

storage.to allows up to 25 GB for free. TransferSize allows a file up to 50 GB. Both free links can expire within one to seven days, so tell the recipient when the link will stop working.

The controls are closer than the homepage suggests

Both services can protect a link with a password, choose an expiry, and cap downloads. TransferSize keeps those controls beside a wider saved workspace; storage.to keeps them inside its smaller temporary-sharing workflow.

Interrupted browser uploads work differently

TransferSize can retry a failed part while its upload session remains open. storage.to also uploads larger browser files in chunks, but its current web guide says that after a dropped connection the partial data is cleaned up and the file should be added again.

Their extra tools serve different users

storage.to offers a desktop app, command-line tool, and API. TransferSize offers read-only WebDAV on eligible plans, plus creator tools and Live Relay. Choose the tools you will use, not the longest feature list.

Will storage.to continue an interrupted browser upload?

Its web guide says large files are chunked, but after a dropped connection the partial browser upload is cleaned up and the file should be added again.

Method

How we checked this comparison

TransferSize wrote this page, so it is not an independent review. We checked the competitor's own plan, product, and help pages on 2026-09-01.

  • We compare the jobs both services can reasonably handle, even when the products are not identical.
  • We say when the other service is the better fit.
  • We do not name a speed or quality winner without a repeatable test.

If a fact has changed, email support@transfersize.com with the page and an official source.
